It is the electrical device that removes heat from one space or environment and transfers it to another. That is, it alternates the cooling cycle of the system, as a result of which it gives hot or cold air depending on the needs of the space.
It is an energy efficient system that absorbs heat from the ambient air for heating and hot water. It transfers the heat of the ambient air to the house through a hydraulic water system, such as underfloor heating, fan coil, and radiators.
Categories of heat pumps
MONOBLOCK and split type heat pumps SPLIT.
SPLIT:
Some systems are located on the outside of the machine (compressor, fans, etc.) and some inside (heat exchanger, circulator, etc.).
The indoor unit is the hydraulic unit where the part that will be connected to the hydraulic heating pipes is.
MONOBLOCK:
All individual systems (compressor, heat exchanger, fans, etc.) are mounted on a machine, which is mounted outdoors.
Easy installation, direct connection to the water system, no restrictions on the distance of the outdoor unit.
COP and EER efficiency coefficient
The Coefficient of Performance (COP) of the pump is the measurement that proves to us whether our pump is efficient in heating in relation to the amount of energy it consumes
COP = Thermal power output / Electric power consumption
EER is the efficiency factor of a heat pump in cooling:
EER = Cooling power efficiency / Electric power consumption

Annual SCOP rate of return
SCOP = Annual thermal energy efficiency / Annual electricity consumption
The annual SCOP efficiency factor is essentially the average COP for all heat pump operating hours.
Defined as the ratio of the total annual heating need to the total annual energy consumed in heating

When the desired temperature is reached in a room and therefore there is less demand for hot or cold water in the system, the compressor operates at a lower rate, thus consuming less energy, producing less noise and increasing the efficiency of the pump.
